We know life can get in the way sometimes and that’s why Texas A&M University offers readmission to students who have to leave school for whatever reason. Rejoin the Aggie family and complete your undergraduate or graduate degree by applying today!

Students who were previously enrolled in a degree-granting program at Texas A&M and did not complete their program of study can apply for readmission to the university.

  1. Watch your email for a message from Application@tamu.edu. This email will be sent 24-48 hours after you submit your application.
  2. Follow the directions in the email to access your UIN and activate your NetID.
  3. Login to applicant.tamu.edu to pay or waive your fee.

Admissions Criteria

Admission decisions for Undergraduate Readmission are based on the following:

If you were previously admitted but did not attend class through the official census date, you must apply as either a freshman or transfer student.

Students can apply for readmission for the Summer or Fall terms, but not in the same year.

What happens after I apply?

Admission decisions are made by each college and major and are competitive. Preference is given to the applicant with the highest grade point ratio (GPR) and the most courses completed in the Degree Track for the major designated on the application.

When can I apply?

Graduate deadlines vary by major. Please see the list of majors in the application itself for deadline information regarding a specific major.

The Admissions Processing Office does not have specific deadlines for Graduate Readmission applications. However, you should check with your department of interest about departmental deadlines.

What happens after I apply?

Graduate admission decisions are made by each of the individual Graduate Departments and are competitive; thus, you should contact the specific department or program prior to applying to discuss your intent to apply as a 'Readmit' student. The decision to admit an applicant to a program of study leading to a graduate degree is the shared responsibility of an academic department, an intercollegiate faculty (where applicable) and/or a college.

Military Readmission

Readmission for Students called to Military Duty

"Military duty" means any activity of a service member performing a duty under a lawful military order, including training.

Students who are called to military duty and must step away from classes for training or temporary duty during a long semester, or are unable to attend a long semester, are required to submit a Readmission application, along with a copy of orders. The copy of the orders will serve as a fee waiver for the application fee.

As long as the student left the university in good academic standing and is returning to the same major, readmission is granted most of the time. If the student did not leave in good standing or applies for a different major, the application will have to go through the regular review process.

Readmission for Students who need to do a Military Withdrawal Due to being Called to Active Military Service

Information and instructions for students called to active military service is available on the Office of the Registrar website.

Please note, upon your return, you are required to submit a Readmission application, along with a copy of orders. The copy of the orders will serve as a fee waiver for the application fee.

As long as you left the university in good academic standing and are returning to the same major, readmission is granted most of the time. If you did not leave in good standing or apply for a different major, the application will have to go through the regular review process.

Withdrawal Due to Call-Up to Active Military Service

"Active military service" means state active-duty service, federally funded state active-duty service or federal active-duty service. The term does not include service performed exclusively for training, such as basic combat training, advanced individual training, annual training, inactive duty training and special training periodically made available to service members.

To ensure that your official transcripts and other supporting documents are processed in a timely and efficient manner, please include the appropriate Document ID Sheet with all documents you submit in support of your application.

Texas A&M University is closed on Saturday and Sunday. Credentials scheduled by overnight mail carriers for Saturday delivery will be delivered and accepted by the University on the next business day.

The Aggie Code of Honor is a way of life and a tool our admissions team uses to judge prospective students. Those who have lived the Aggie Code of Honor long before they knew it was the Aggie Code of Honor will fit in perfectly at Texas A&M. Applicants found to have misrepresented themselves or submitted false information on the application will receive appropriate disciplinary action.

In accordance with Texas A&M student rule 24.4.1, acts of dishonesty include but are not limited to:

The submission of false information at the time of admission or readmission is ground for rejection of the application, withdrawal of any offer of acceptance, cancellation of enrollment, dismissal or other appropriate disciplinary action.
